Childcare

ChildcareHigh quality wraparound childcare will be provided on the school site or through other local providers, with supervised transfer arrangements where appropriate. The children will have the opportunity to take part in activities such as arts and sports which will help raise educational achievement and wellbeing.

In primary schools this means having access to a varied menu of study support and play activities, combined with childcare, five days a week, 48 weeks a year.

In secondary schools this means access to a varied menu of study support activities, which also offer young people a safe place to be during term time, and more flexibly in the holidays, (secondary schools do not need to provide access to formal childcare).

With extended schools providing quality childcare parents and carers will be able to return to work safe in the knowledge that their child is being cared for in a high quality, safe environment.
