Parenting
The following extended services may be available at schools in your area.
Information sessions for parents and carers
We would like to make your child’s transition from reception to primary and then to secondary, as smooth as possible. Your school may provide information sessions for parents and carers where you can ask questions and gain the important information you need.
- Access to information
Please ask your school or extended school coordinator for information about national and local organizations which offer advice and support. This will enable you to access the information you need if it’s not available directly through your school.
- Parenting advice
Parenting programmes may be available to strengthen parenting skills and promote positive discipline and communication. We are also aiming to offer parenting groups to provide an opportunity for you to talk to the school and other parents.
- Family learning sessions
You can attend family learning sessions with your children which allows you to learn together as a family.
To find out which of these services are available in your area please contact your local school or extended schools coordinator.
