Welcome to our Consortium
An extended school consortium is a ‘cluster’ of schools ranging in number and covering early years provision (including children’s centres), special status schools, JMI schools and Secondary schools.
Extended schools act as a focal point to provide access to a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, families and the wider community. This can include childcare, health and social services, adult education, family learning and study support.
Schools are not expected to deliver these services and activities on their own but are required to work with other schools and with external partners and providers such as the health service, private and voluntary organisations.
In the Bushey, Aldenham and Radlett Consortium we have 19 schools including infant, junior, JMI, special and secondary schools.
Highwood Primary is the hub school for the consortium.
