LINK Dacorum Extended Schools

What is an extended school?

Extended schools provide a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, families and the wider community.

There are 16 schools in the LINK Dacorum Consortium, which covers two Childrens Centre areas. These have been chosen by Hertfordshire County Council to work together delivering the core offer.

How has the LINK Dacorum Consortium identified the needs in the area?

The schools have:

• Looked at what they are offering already and identified gaps
• Surveyed parents on what services and activities they would like
• Talked to people in the community about how schools and other agencies can work closer together to benefit children and their families
