What is a Children's Centre?
Children’s Centre’s provide information and services for families with young children aged 0-5 years, and aims to build on good existing services rather than starting new ones where it’s not necessary.
By visiting a Children’s Centre, you will receive support and help in finding childcare, family support, health services and even employment advice. If you are looking for day care as a working parent, the centre will be able to give you information about the options for you and your child.
Children’s Centres are:
- An agency to support families, groups and organizations for under 5’s.
- The aim is to help you give your children the very best start in life.
- It can be hard to know what services are available or what they actually offer, the Children’s Centre will help with this and be a one-stop shop to find out what is about.
- It will also provide some services that are currently missing from your community. Finding out what you want and need will be vital to developing the services that will be offered.
- Support with training and links with Jobcentre Plus and health professionals will also be available.
