University of the 3rd Age
Dame Alice Owens' has granted the U3A Potters
bar branch use of their facilities to run various interest
groups and is proving to be a very successful venue.
Potters Bar U3A welcomes new members and the only criteria
is that you are not in full time employment. There are over
50 interest groups run by u3a members on a voluntary basis,
ranging from learning Spanish to dancing for fun, there are
no qualifications or certificates attached to the subjects.
Among the groups held at Dame Alice Owens are painting, men's
cooking group and calligraphy.
Our membership is very diverse. At present the
membership fee is £12.50 per year.
A monthly meeting is held at the Wyllyotts theatre
on the 2nd or 3rd Monday of the month. 10 am - 12 noon. The
next meeting will be 27th April the talk will be Beatrix Potter
Author, Artist and Conservationist.
