A message from the Riversmeet Team:-
Time is ticking and in the blink of an eye, it has been 4 years since we’ve been around and to say good-bye now brings sadness to us. 
For those who know and for those don’t know, Extended Schools is coming to an end, end of this term and as a team we would like to bid farewell to all. 
It has been a pleasure working with your children and yourselves and seeing you making the efforts in getting involved with activities planned both during holidays and term time and seeing those familiar faces.
As the journey for us ends here, we would like to assure you that Family Support Services will be available for you from September 2011.  Please contact your schools should you require these services.

Welcome to the website for the Riversmeet Extended Schools Consortium!  Our consortium covers the Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Mill End, Maple Cross and Chorleywood areas of Three Rivers.  Please see Our Consortium page to find which schools are members of our consortium.

What is an extended school?

Extended schools provide access to a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, families and the wider community.

Schools are not expected to deliver these services and activities on their own but to work with other schools and with external partners and providers – for example, the health service, the local college and private and voluntary organisations.

Many schools are already providing some of these opportunities and have been doing so for some time.  But now all schools are being encouraged to offer an even wider range over the next three years.

What services should be offered by Extended Schools and when?

ALL schools in the consortium are now meeting the Full Core Offer for Extended Schools, as required by Government. This means YOUR school now offers you:

• CHILDCARE– affordable childcare before and after the school day and during the holidays for all primary aged children.

• VARIED MENU OF ACTIVITIES - for all pupils – ranging from homework clubs to sport, music and special interest clubs. ALSO a range of holiday activities for all children and young people of the consortium.

• SPECIALIST SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE – the new system by which schools can access extra support for those pupils who need it is up and running. Contact Judith Bains- see Contact Us page- for more details.

• SUPPORT FOR PARENTS – including parenting programmes and family learning sessions.

• COMMUNITY ACCESS- to school facilities and to adult learning.
