Family Cycle Safety Training In Croxley Green
The sessions taught families how to cycle safely when they are out together and were organised in response to the consultation with the parents of pupils at the primary schools in Croxley Green. The courses, run by instructors from Hertfordshire County Council, proved popular with local families, despite the freezing conditions! The first part of each session, covering basic skills, was completed on the playground, before the instructors took the families out on to the local roads to put their new skills to the test! Do they appeal to you? Let us know, and if there is sufficient demand, we will organise further courses, possibly in other schools!
Feedback from participants:
"We very much enjoyed the course and found it really useful, in terms of safety, road etiquette and correct cycling technique. The Instructors were hugely knowledgeable and were able to adapt the course to fulfill the needs of children and adults alike. The ratio of Instructors to attendees was also very good.
We chose to do this course because, as a family, we do enjoy cycling and wanted to be sure that we were doing so as safely as possible. I feel that the course will help us to achieve this, and that our children always benefit from hearing safety information from someone other than us (I'm sure you know what I mean!)
I would recommend this course to any family, whether as a refresher for seasoned cyclists or a good starting point for novices such as ourselves. The locality of where we live has wonderful opportunities for cycling and it is a great way to combine some exercise with quality family fun time."
"Having now done it I feel it is essential for riders, young and old. I learnt a lot".
"I am much happier about allowing my son on the road".
"This was an excellent session and would like to congratulate ALL concerned. Keep it up!".
