Aspergers 4 Herts – NEW Social group for ages 13 to 19 years

Aspergers 4 Herts have now secured funding for teenage (13 to 19 years) activities for the next 18 months. The teen groups will consist of two groups of 10 young people, doing fun activities, once a month, with each session lasting approximately one hour.

We understand how difficult it can be sometimes to get our children to find the courage to do something new, out of routine and with new people, we also know just how well these activities work once the children start to attend and get used to each other. With this in mind we have decided to set the activities in batches of six (one a month over a six month period) with the first six being easy going, fun but nothing too interactive. Once the group bonds and the children are happy and familiar with the other members we hope they will sign up for the following six months. These activities will still be fun but a little more structured to aid interaction, life and social skills. We do hope, one day our teen groups will turn into our adult social groups!

All activities are FREE, and we supply water to drink on the day. The taster sessions consisted of Karting, Bell Boating, Rock Climbing (small indoor face) and the new activities will be of a similar nature. All we ask in return is that your teenager commits to doing the six sessions over six months, this is to ensure that he/she gets the maximum benefit from the group. Activities will be on a Saturday morning once a month, we do understand if you are on holiday for one session. Activities will be at various locations all over Hertfordshire.

All we need back is a reply at this stage saying “YES, I would like a place for my child, her/his name and their age”. Details will then follow regarding dates and permission forms.
