Family Learning | Internet Safety for the Family

image on teens on a computerChildren love the internet, it's a great way to have fun, keep in touch with friends and find information for homework and projects. But just like in the real world, we need to take sensible precautions on the internet to protect our families from harm.

You don't have to be an expert to make the difference. You can talk to your children about what they do online and pass on safety messages.

The most important safety message of all is NEVER go along to meet anyone you have met online and NEVER reveal any personal contact details.

Some local schools are already aware of the implications of the internet on the safety of young people, so it could be worth asking for information.

If you're concerned...

If you do see things like pictures on the internet that you think are illegal, then you can report it to the Internet Watch Foundation, who will pass it to the police confidentially.
