image of alphabet lettersIf everything has changed since you were at school, Family Learning can help.

Family Learning means different things, it can be learning new skills alongside your child (eg at a pottery class, or at our Evening of Cultural Delights). Or, it can mean learning in a more structured way about your child's curriculum. Most schools offer information and even classes for parents about aspects of the curriculum.

If you're intrested or need more help, you can speak to your child's school or contact Extended Schools direct, "contact us".

We will be working with Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service to introduce some short courses into schools to help parents better understand what their children are learning at school. Research has shown that children learn more effectively when encouraged and supported by parents and carers. They also do better at their homework and it can help their grades.

Going back into the classroom as an adult can be daunting - but it will have huge benefits for your child. This page will develop over time, so look out for more information from schools.
