Update on Changes to Extended Services
From September 1st the new South West Herts Partnership will take the place of existing Consortia partnerships in Watford, Three Rivers, Bushey and Radlett.
The Lead School for this new partnership is Chessbrook ESC, Tolpits Lane, Watford WD18 6LJ
You will still be able to access Family Support through the new Partnership arrangements.
Changes to Extended Services are coming to schools in September 2011. There will no longer be Extended Schools Consortia but there will be a Local Partnership covering all schools who wish to be involved in the Watford area. The lead school is in process of being appointed and more information on this will follow shortly.
Families will still be able to receive support through the new role of Family Support Workers in Schools, and details of these workers will be available later in the summer term.
Feeling Safe and Standing Strong: A 6 week course for parents and carers based on Protective Behaviours to take place at Westfield Children's Centre starting 11th May 2011. More information and a booking form can be found here
Family Support
Family Lives, formerly known as Parentline Plus, offers a range of free and flexible community-based, on-line and telephone support services for families with children of any age. Services include a free 24-hour helpline – Parentline on 0808 800 2222, individual and group-based programmes, email and on-line community support – www.familylives.org.uk, providing information, advice and a range of resources that aims to ensure that families get the support they need when they need it.
Family Lives offers local services – individual support and a wide range of group workshops and courses tailored to parents’ needs. For more information call 01707 630107. Family Lives also provides supervision and training to professionals working in the family support arena.

ActOne, are re-launching UV, the inclusive club night for young people aged 13 + this December! They are also planning a second event in March 2011. The Attic, part of the University of Hertfordshire Campus is the ideal base for the UV Club Night’s; it’s a reputable, fully accessible and high quality club with fantastic facilities. To ensure that UV continues to involve young people county wide, transport will be organised from each Hertfordshire district so that young people are able to attend independently from all around the county.
