This youth project is open to all young people aged between 11 and 19 years and not just for those who attend Monks Walk School. Young people can take part in a range of activities from sports, art and craft to drama, and discuss issues that are important to them such as health, drugs education, bullying, peer pressure etc. The activities can lead to recognition and accreditation.
The project is also open on a Wednesday night for young people aged 11 and 12. Senior members have been trained to run the project, which is overseen by youth workers.
Street Projects

From a successful bid to the Youth Opportunity Fund the young people have hired the pavilion in the park and have planned a programme including sexual health, a drugs awareness course, trips out and a residential

Wednesday : 5.45pm – 8.15pm for 13 – 19 year olds
Young people can come along to meet with friends on the Body Stop bus, which is parked in the recreation ground. The programme on the bus includes discussions on health, decision-making and smoking. There are also plans to have a police input on personal safety and knife crime. Computers and hot drinks are also available on the bus. The young people are in the process of applying for funding to hire a building for next winter, to provide a warm and safe environment.
Welham Green/Hatfield Outreach
Wednesday evenings
Youth workers use the Breaks Manor minibus to visit the area by Dellsome Lane Shops in Welham Green and the British Aerospace area of Hatfield to meet with young people and encourage them to engage in positive activities in the area.

Young people can come to Breaks to participate in planned activities, hangout with their peers and make new friends. The project is staffed by friendly, approachable, trained youth workers who put young people's interest at the centre of their work. Young people’s successes are recorded and celebrated.
There is a 'chill out' lounge for young people to relax, a computer suite with internet access, a music and recording studio, art and craft room and, on some evenings, a motor bike project within the Centre. In addition to these facilities, young people can take part in a variety of activities such as basic cooking, drama, DJ mixing etc and develop life and social skills.
Young people are also given the opportunity to voice their opinions and get information on issues that are important to them such as alcohol, drugs, health, education, bullying and peer pressure.
Meeting Point sessions are also held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3 – 6 pm, for young people 13 – 16 years, where they can come along after school to use computers, or take part in music, art and dance workshops.

This group is for young mums and mums-to-be under 20. Crèche facilities are provided. The programme is put together by the young people attending the group and this has included first aid, beauty tasters, sexual health and benefits advice.
